Description

You are bidding on a high-quality reprint of the 1950 Department of the Army Technical Manual “90-mm Guns M3 and M3A1 for Combat Vehicles” TM 9-374, 1950, 250p. The Sherman tank with its 75-mm gun found itself outgunned with the 90-mm gun the later opposing tanks were carrying. The M3 90-mm gun was developed in response and mounted on all subsequent tanks, including the M-26, M-36 and M-48 “Patton”. This allowed firing at much greater distance and with a heavier warhead. Although the gun is described in the manuals on the tanks themselves, this manual has a great deal of information just about the gun itself that is often not found in the tank manuals. Chapters include .Instruments, Operation under usual conditions, lubrication and painting, preventive maintenance, gun tube and breech ring, breechblock mechanism, hand breech operating mechanism,  Recoil mechanism, firing linkage, sighting and fire control equipment, and much more.
PLEASE NOTE THAT NO ATTEMPT HAS BEEN MADE TO USE THE SAME BINDING AND PRINTING TECHNOLOGY OF THE ORIGINAL. The reproduction is entirely modern. It is printed on 24 lb stock using a laser printer. The cover starts with card stock printed with a scan of the original front and back covers. The manual is bound using comb-binding so the manual lies flat when open. There is a 10-mil clear acetate cover on both front and rear card-stock covers.
