LUFTWAFFE FLYING CLASP – DAY FIGHTER – LONG RANGE -SILVER- FED. REPUBLIC PATTERN

Combat clasps were awarded by the
Luftwaffe
to recognize air crew for operational flights undertaken.  This clasp is patterned after those badges.
This is the silver grade of the Long-Range Day Fighter Clasp awarded for 60 flights.
This is a suitable version for the German Federal Republic correct for wear by veterans.
It is also suitable for re-enactors.
The badge is almost identical to the one awarded during the Second World War.
This beautifully-crafted and fully-functional clasp was recently made.
It measures 72 mm
across and weighs 21 grams(0.7 oz.).
