1807 O.111a R4+ "Bearded Goddess" Bust half dollar, PCGS F detDavidKahnRareCoins

This is a very solid, middle to late die state of the 1807 O.111a R4+ Capped Bust half dollar, AKA the famous and very tough to locate “Bearded Goddess”.
Note that this is Die State 111.4, as described by the very informative, new BHNC publication, “Die State Progressions of the Capped Bust Half Dollar Die Varieties 1807-1836” (which is available from us exclusively, either here on ebay or on our website).
This original, solid VF example has been judged by PCGS to grade F details, code 95 for scratch.  Whatever.  As noted, the coin is original, very pleasing and grades a solid VF.  There is a scratch above the cap on the obverse that is frankly, kind of hard to see.  It took us a minute to find it, but they got that part right…there is a scratch.  No other significant issues though, and Liberty’s beard is very nicely developed and easy to see, naked eye.  The crack extends to Liberty’s eye and faintly down thru part of the drapery, but it does not extend past the date or to the headband.  But, this is a solidly bearded 1807 O.111a, it is rare and very popular as such, and you can buy it at whatever price you set!  Thanks for your participation, and good luck!
